flash, gleam, glint, sparkle, glitter, glisten, glimmer, shimmer mean to send forth light. flash implies a sudden outburst of bright light.

lightning flashed gleam suggests a steady light seen through an obscuring medium or against a dark background.

lights gleamed in the valley glint implies a cold glancing light.
glinting steel sparkle suggests innumerable moving points of bright light.

the sparkling waters glitter connotes a brilliant sparkling or gleaming.
glittering diamonds glisten applies to the soft sparkle from a wet or oily surface.
glistening wet sidewalk glimmer suggests a faint or wavering gleam.

a distant glimmering light shimmer means shining with a wavering light.

a shimmering satin dress

The origin of the word flash is uncertain, although it rhymes with a number of other verbs that also mean forceful, often violent movement that may come to a quick end: dash, lash, crash, slash, clash, gash, bash, splash, smash. These words turn up in English over a fairly long period of time, from dash— the only word in the group with a likely foreign source—in the 14th century, to smash in the 18th century. The element -ash has thus provided a kind of model for new words. The initial fl – that is added to -ash to make flash is also heard in words meaning quick movement, as flee, fly, flicker, and flutter.

“Thotiana” (originally titled “Thothiana” and originally stylized in lowercase[1]) is a song by American rapper Blueface. Its music video premiered on WorldStarHipHop’s YouTube channel on July 5, 2018.[2] It was then released as a single from Blueface’s debut mixtape, Famous Cryp (2018), on February 2, 2018. The song was written by Blueface and produced by Scum Beatz.[3]Billboard magazine ranked “Thotiana” as the 26th best song of 2019, calling it “one of the catchiest songs of the year”.[4]

According to a Rolling Stone article, Blueface states “Bust down commonly refers to going down on the dance floor. It’s kinda like a dance move or somethin.”[citation needed]

Blueface released a remix of the song featuring American rapper YG on YouTube in January 2019, with a music video directed by Cole Bennett. In this video, Blueface reprises the role of a top prospect high school quarterback, referencing the rapper’s experiences playing football at high school and college. The video somewhat explains Blueface’s decision to quit football and enter the rap game, as the rapper is shown neglecting his football coach, more interested in fame, money and success.[5][6][7] Blueface teased a second official remix, featuring Cardi B, on his social media pages in early February 2019.[8] This remix’s music video was also directed by Bennett and premiered on YouTube on February 16, 2019. The video finds Blueface and Cardi in a warehouse performing next to an all-red car painted with paisley-inspired designs, which is also seen flying through the clouds. Cardi wears bandana-print chaps and a matching cowboy hat in the clip.[9][10] On February 18, 2019, Blueface released the final remix to music platforms, with him, Cardi B and YG on the same track together.[11]

The song has also been remixed by Nicki Minaj, Desiigner, Tyga, Soulja Boy, and Young M.A.

“Thotiana” debuted at number 75 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Blueface’s first entry on the chart.[12] It has since peaked at number 8 on the chart.[13]

* عَولمة ( اسم):

* عَولَمَ (فعل):

O.G. or original gangster or real OG or triple OG
[oh-jee] or [uh-rij-uh-nl gang-ster]

OG is a slang term for someone who’s incredibly exceptional, authentic, or “old-school.” It can be earnestly used for a legend like Michael Jordan or more ironically, like for that friend who can unwrap a Starburst with their mouth.

While OG has come to be a hip way of referring or showing respect to someone who’s an expert in any facet of life, its origins lie in gang culture. According to Steve Champion and former South Central Los Angeles gang member Anthony Ross in 2006, the term first started being used in the early 1970s by the LA-based Original Gangster Crips. The term original gangster was derived from the gang’s name and initially stood for “we’re the first.” Crips members would use the OG abbreviation as a shorthand when writing which part of the gang they belonged to (e.g., Original Eastside Crip or OG Eastside).

As the Crips expanded in the 1970s, and many new recruits were coming form different gangs, the definition of the term began to change. An OG became someone who was deeply devoted to their subset gang, and younger members of the gangs began to use it in reference to the elders. The term became so popular that even the Crips’s rival gang, the Bloods, started using it.

During the 1980s, OG began to enter the mainstream with its use in commercialized rap music. In songs and music videos, an OG was seen as someone in gang culture who was hip and impressive (an exceptional badass), and soon the term was used to describe people in the real world who exemplified those characteristics even when they had no gang affiliations. At the same time, the term continued to carry on its initial meaning in the sense that something was OG if it was the first of its kind or unique—that is, original.

One notable example of OG in the context of commercialized rap is in LA-raised rapper Ice-T’s single (and album) “O.G. Original Gangster,” which, at its peak, was #7 on 1991’s Billboard rap charts.

There also exists a popular strain of weed known as OG Kush. The origin of the strain’s name is debated, but according to Amsterdam-based cannabis-seed seller DNA Genetics, who’s responsible for marketing OG Kush seeds, the strain originally went by a different name, but was renamed OG Kush by the popular 1990s LA rap group Cypress Hill. Cypress Hill, apparently, was using OG in its sense of “exceptional.”

Due to its gang origins, OG is still often used in reference to anything gang or hip-hop related. There also exist variations of the term including real OG and triple OG, which have come to mean someone who has made it out of the hood and become a success but remains connected to their roots.

OG can also praise someone or something that is considered authentic and excellent, often in an admirably old-school or classic way.

OG can also be used ironically to describe people who are polar opposites of the stereotypical gangster. For example, one might be jokingly labeled an OG if they are considered nerdy.

This is not meant to be a formal definition of OG like most terms we define on Dictionary.com, but is
rather an informal word summary that hopefully touches upon the key aspects of the meaning and usage of OG
that will help our users expand their word mastery.
