margarine

yes Margarine
Just as Mr. El-Mawawi said, and from the link he provided, “Modern margarine can be made from any of a wide variety of animal or vegetable fats” so it can’t be when used by itself سمنة نباتية
I think the process for making Ghee differs from one needed for making margarine:http://www.answers.com/topic/ghee
I have also seen the term “Vegetarian ghee” being used: http://www.indiamike.com/india/showthread.php?t=2449
Margarine is only used if it’s treated in such a way to look and taste like animal fats.
yes this is very true
ربما مصعب على حق.
Correct!
That is it.
Agree and I think this is the right equivalent.
At first I didn’t know what was a ghee. Now I’ve checked on Wikipedia, I can say that I agree with Vegetable Ghee
We tend to use “Vegetable Shortning” more often here in the USA. I hope this helps. This does not mean that the other answers are wrong. They can be used as well. I am suggesting what I think is more popular to use. Most people here in the U.S do not know what ghee is. Take care everyone
You are very right Amro. This is the first thing that came to my mind but I thought that since I live in the States I am a minority! Most of our colleagues are in ME and Europe and ghee could be more familiar.

Thank you Lamis. I thought that the term “vegetable shortning” is used in Europe as well. Thank you for sharing the info.
This is interesting! I have never heard that term before. Thanks for the extra info.
